The New England Buddhist Vihara and Meditation Center was established as a nonprofit religious organization in 2004 to equally serve both Buddhist and non-Buddhist communities living in the New England area. Currently the temple conducts meditation retreats, Dhamma school for children, Sil programs, Dhamma discussions, annual Buddhist celebrations and prayer ceremonies as well as cultural activities such as the Sri Lankan New Year. Throughout the past 12 years the congregation has grown to more than 200 families and the need for more space has become an urgent necessity, especially for conducting Dhamma school for about 35 children and the highly attended events such as Meditation Retreats, New Year, Vesak and Katina ceremonies.

In order to address these space requirements we decided to build a new vihara and meditation building in front of the current temple. The current small vihara building will be used as a Sangha Vasa (monk’s residence). Currently, the estimate for this project is about $400,000 and we are in a process of raising funds for this meritorious deed.

We would like to request your generous donations for our New England Buddhist Vihara and Meditation Center (NEBV & MC) building fund which is fully tax deductible in the US. We hope that you will participate in this meritorious deed and help your friends living in the New England region, and especially the children to have a spacious temple to carry out their religious and Dhamma educational activities. Please make your check payable to “NEBV & MC” and write Building Fund on the memo area. Your donation is fully tax deductible.
